Two Tiger Golfers Headed to the State Championships

November 6-7, 2017  -  On a beautiful, sunny and very pleasant day in Taft, with temperatures in the mid 70's, the Reedley College Tigers played for two of six spots Individually to advance to the State Championships next week.  Leading the way for the Tigers was Hannah Lovering, who posted a round of 76, tying her for the 2nd best score of the day.  Monique Torres-Jimenez shot a round of 86, and sits in 8th place after Round #1.  Both Tiger players know that they must play well on Tuesday in order to advance individually.  On Day #2, the weather was warm and pleasant, with temperatures in the 70's and breezes at approximately 5-10 mph. Round #2 saw Hannah Lovering card a round of 78, and Monique Torres-Jimenez also posted a solid 7 over par round of 79.  Both Hannah Lovering's 154 (+10) and Monique Torres-Jimenez's 165 (+21) enabled both players to make the All Northern California Regional Team and advance as Individual Qualifiers for the State Championships. Next up on the schedule will be a trip to the State Championships at Morro Bay Golf Course on the Central Coast on Sunday and Monday for another 36-hole tournament to determine the overall State Team and Individual championships for 2017!
