Big Weekend for Women's Golf at State Chamionships

The Reedley College Women's golf program was represented by 2 Tiger golfers this past weekend at the State Championships held at Morro Bay Golf Course on the scenic central coast.  Hannah Lovering and Monique Torres-Jimenez, both Sophomores, represented the Tiger program exceptionally well as Indivduals playing their final tournament of their illustrious 2-year careers!  Hannah was selected 1st Team All-State, finishing in a solo 2nd place.  Hannah posted scores of 75-70 = 145 (+1), and was bested by only 1 player in the field of 58.  Hannah was very solid both days, hitting 33 of 36 greens and shooting -4 on the Par 5's for the tournament.  In her career, Hannah was named to the All-CVC team twice, the All Northern California team twice, and to the All-State team twice.  Hannah is the 1st Reedley Tiger Woman to be selected to the All-State team!  Hannah finished the season with a 75.00 stroke average, which is a Reedley College single season scoring record.

Monique Torres-Jimenez also had a terrific weekend, shooting scores of 75-75 = 150 (+6) for the final tournament of her RC career.  Monique finished in a solo 8th place finish, only 1 stroke out of a potential All-State selection.  Monique was a model of consistency with her driver, hitting 25 of 28 fairways for the tournament.  Monique's total of 150 is the 2nd best State tournament total for any Reedley College woman golfer in history.  Monique also had a terrific 2-year career for the Tigers, being selected All-CVC twice, All Northern California this year, and playing in 2 State tournaments as an Individual.  Monique finishes her 2017 season with a stroke average of 80.40, which ranks in the Top 10 All Time for a single season!

The Tigers thank both Hannah and Monique for outstanding seasons in 2017!  Both ladies accomplished a tremendous amount this year, and will be greatly missed.
