Women's Basketball Places Third In San Diego City College Tournament

The Reedley and College Lady Tigers took a 4-3 season record into a Tuesday, Nov. 22 home game with Allan Hancock College after returning from the San Diego City College tournament with a third-place finish.
Hancock brings a 3-2 record into Tuesday's 3 pm contest. After a break for Thanksgiving, Coach Dan Kilbert's squad travel to meet a 4-3 Foothill College team on Nov. 30 before facing a 4-0 College of San Mateo squad the next day.


In San Diego, the Tigers opened play on Thursday with a 69-46 win over Imperial Valley. Four Tigers scored in double figures in the win. All-tournament selection Makaiyah Randle led the winners with 18 points. Zola Omawahleh hit three 3-pointers and followed with a season-high of 17 points. Annie Lopez netted 16 while Amanpreet Kaur followed with 13.


Kaur netted 25 points but it wasn't enough as Reedley fell to Southwestern 86-74 in Friday's semifinals. Omawahleh followed with 15 points. Lopez was next with 14 and Randle had 13.


The Lady Tigers rallied from a 15-2 second-quarter deficit to defeat Cuesta College 58-48 in Saturday's third-place game. Reedley forced the Cougars into 28 turnovers. Randle led the winners with 16 points. Chasity Martinez was next with 12 points while Lopez followed with 11.
