Women's Basketball Goes 1-1 For The Week

Reedley College split a pair of Central Valley Conference women's basketball contests last week, defeating Porterville 74-58 on the road on Jan. 30 before a 66-51 loss at home to West Hills Lemoore on Feb. 2.

The Lady Tigers take a conference record of 4-3 and an overall mark of 12-10 into a Wednesday, Feb. 6 home contest with Taft College. It will be the only action of the week for head coach Dan Kilbert's team, which returns to the court at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13 in Visalia against the College of the Sequoias Giants.

In the win over Porterville, I'man Conley led the Lady Tigers with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Xavia Barlow followed with 15 points and nine rebounds while Stephanie Cervantes had 15 points and eight rebounds. Jelani Williford was the fourth Tiger in double figures with 10 points. Kristy Berry came off the bench to contribute two points and a team-high 12 points.

Reedley had a cold shooting night in the loss to West Hills. Fouls were also a problem as three of the eight Lady Tigers in uniform fouled out and another finished with four. Both teams combined for 52 fouls, 29 on the Tigers.

Barlow netted half of her game-high 18 points in the third quarter for Reedley. Chloe Welch followed with nine points before fouling out with 2:23 remaining.
