Men's Golf Finishes In Southern Cal Tournament.

On a beautiful sunny and warm day in San Jacinto, with very windy conditions at the Eagle Golf Classic, the Tigers finished 7th overall in the 9-Team tournament field against many of the best teams from Southern California.  Reedley shot a team score of 406 on the difficult Soboba Springs Golf Course, 46 shots over par for the day.  The leading scorer for the Tigers was Freshman Miguel Villa, who shot a 7 over par round of 79, and was the only Tiger to break 80 on the day.  The next best score was Freshman Patrick Sperling, who posted a round of 80.  Freshman Cole Obrigewitsch shot a round of 81.  Freshman Zac Ruskofsky posted a round of 82.  Lastly, Freshmen Jacob Moller posted the 5th and final team score by shooting an 84 to cap the scoring for the Tigers.  The 7th place tournament finish for the Tigers was not what the Tiger golfers were looking for, but they will take home some very valuable lessons that will help them to improve as conference play continues next week.  Next up on the schedule is Big 8 Conference South Division Tournament #2 at Madera Golf & Country Club in Madera. The host school is Fresno City College, playing their neutral site to start the conference season for 2022. The Tigers will be looking to defend their 2021 conference championship in the Big 8 with a strong performance on the road. A shotgun start is scheduled for 12:00 noon in north Fresno County.
