Tigers Win Ninth Consecutive Conference Tournament

The Reedley College golf team came back from their Spring Break rested, relaxed, and excited to get back into Big 8 Conference action with a tournament at beautiful Hunter Ranch Golf Course in Paso Robles.  This was a neutral site tournament with the Tigers serving as the hosts for the day.  The Tigers played really solid team golf, shooting a respectable score of 374 (+14) in absolutely beautiful, sunny, and nearly perfect conditions.  The Tigers had five players who posted solid rounds in the 70's.  Leading the way for the Tigers was the combination of Morgan Cooper, Bailey Flickinger and Dylan Otto, who all posted solid rounds of 1 over par 73.  Morgan set a season-high by totaling 6 birdies on his scorecard!  Xavier Coreno fired a good round of 77, converting on 7 out of 11 scrambling opportunities.  Tommy O'Rourke rounded out the scoring for the Tigers with a 78.  The Tigers totaled 15 birdies on the day, and had their Big 8 Conference 1st place lead increased to 9 tournaments with their victory on the Central Coast.  The Tigers' Big 8 record now stands at 36-0.  RC's lead in the overall point standings is now 40 points over second place Fresno City College, 90-50.  The Tigers improved to 39-0 on the season, and are looking forward to their next tournament versus Napa Valley College on Friday at Silverado Golf Resort & Spa in Napa.  Silverado Resort is the host site for the State Championships in May, so it will be a nice preview for the Tiger golfers before the Post Season tournament.  Tee times are slated to begin at 2:00 pm.
