Tigers Win Rig City Invitational.

The Tigers played a terrific round of golf on Monday at Bakersfield Country Club in the Rig City Invitational, a 12-team tournament with schools from both Northern and Southern California participating.  The weather was spectacular, with temperatures in the low to mid 80's, and the golf course was in very good condition for this Big 8 Conference South Division neutral tournament in Bakersfield.  The Tigers shot a spectacular round of 5-over par 365 and defeated the 2nd place Santa Barbara City College Vaqueros of Southern California by 10 strokes.  The Tigers made 14 Birdies in posting their team score on the tricky greens at B.C.C.  The Taft team shot a 385, their second-best team score of the season, and had 4 players post rounds in the 70's, and finished in 3rd overall.  Leading the way for the Tigers, and the overall tournament medalist among 72 players was Tommy O'Rourke, who posted a very fine round of 3 under par 69.  Morgan Cooper shot a 2 under par round of 70 to finish in 2nd place Individually, followed by Beau Willett's 73, which included 3 Birdies. Bailey Flickinger carded a very solid round of 74, making 14 pars.  Dylan Otto rounded out the scoring for the Tigers on the afternoon with a 79.  The victory left the Tigers with an overall record of 31-0 on the season, including 28-0 in the South Division.  Next up on the schedule is a road trip to Silverado Golf Resort in Napa for a Dual Match against Napa Valley College.  Silverado Resort is the host site for the State Championships in May. Tee time is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Friday.
