Men's Golf WIns Over Ventura By 30 Strokes

The Tigers traveled west on Highway 41 about 2 hours and 15 minutes to Paso Robles to play a dual match against Ventura College at Hunter Ranch Golf Course, a neutral site that was about the same travel distance away for both colleges.  Weather forecasters had called for lots of sunshine with some wind, and the Tigers took advantage of the tremendous scoring conditions and played exceptionally well for their afternoon round.  The Tigers shot a team score of 369, or +9 over par for five players, with all 5 Tiger golfers posting scores at or under 76 (+4).  The 369 team score tied the best score on the season for the talented 2019 Reedley College golf team. The Tigers' victory on the afternoon bested Ventura Colleges's round of 399 by 30 strokes.  Leading the way for the Tigers and shooting an Even par round of 72 for the day was Bailey Flickinger, who is a Paso Robles native and calls Hunter Ranch G.C. his home!!  Next was the solid play of Tommy O'Rourke, who posted a very good round of 73.  The dynamic combination of Beau Willett and Morgan Cooper both fired solid rounds of 74.  Xavier Coreno shot a 76 to complete the Tigers' team score on the afternoon.  The Tigers made 12 Birdies and an Eagle on the day in posting the fantastic overall team score. The Tigers hit a lot of fairways and greens, and putted well on the tough Hunter Ranch Golf Course greens.  It was nice to see the guys play well on a course that 5 of the 6 players had never seen before!  The Tigers now have an overall record of 13-0 on the season, including 12-0 in the Big 8 Conference. Next up on the schedule is a home tournament at Kings River Golf & Country Club in Kingsburg.  A shotgun start is slated to begin on Monday at 12:00 noon.
