Tigers In First Place Midway Through the Season

The Tigers played Central Valley Conference Tournament #6 at Fig Garden Golf Club with a good round of golf, shooting a team score of 385, defeating Taft College and West Hills College-Lemoore by 10 shots, and Fresno City College by 24 shots.  The weather conditions in Fresno were warm and sunny, with temperatures in the low 70's and a slight breeze but no rain, as had been predicted. The greens were receptive after the rain the previous couple of days, and the Tigers took advantage of their opportunities on the day and made 12 Birdies on their way to the tournament victory and extended their lead in the C.V.C. to 2 points through 6 tournaments. Leading the way for the Tigers was Dylan Otto, who took 2nd place overall individually after posting a very solid round of 75.  Xavier Coreno and Amardeep Manku posted very good rounds of 77.  Adam Nelson and Morgan Cooper completed the scoring for the Tigers by shooting rounds of 78.  The win moved the Tigers to 16-2 in the C.V.C.  The Tigers now have 4 of the top 9 players in the Central Valley Conference Individual Standings.  Next up for the Tigers will be another conference tournament opportunity on Monday at Kings River Golf & Country Club in Kingsburg.  Tee time is scheduled for 12:00 noon with a semi-shotgun start, which is being hosted by Reedley College.
