Tigers Take Second at Taft

On a sunny, beautiful day in the city of Taft, with temperatures in the mid 70's and very little wind, the Tigers finished 2nd in the Central Valley Conference tournament hosted by the Taft College Cougars at Buena Vista Golf Course.  Reedley shot a solid team score of 372, 12 shots over par for the day. Taft won the tournament with a terrific team score of 361, or 1 over par for the five counting scores.  West Hills came in 3rd with a score of 387, and the Rams came in last place as they shot a team score of 396.  The 372 team score was a very good score for the Tigers considering the putting conditions for the day were very difficult, and the greens were very slow.  The Tigers played well, making 14 birdies by the end of the afternoon round.  The leading scorer for the Tigers was Dylan Otto, who posted a very solid round of 71, -1 on the day and the 2nd best Individual round for the tournament.  Adam Nelson hit 17 greens in regulation and shot a 74 on the day. John Karayan and Xavier Coreno both posted 75's on the day.  Amardeep Manku shot a round of 77 to complete the scoring for Reedley College. The Tigers posted all 5 scores in the 70's on the day, which is a great recipe for success.  The Tigers now need to focus their attention on the next Central Valley Conference tournament in Fresno at Fig Garden Golf Club on Wednesday.  The Fresno City College Rams are the host for the tournament.  Tee time is slated for 12:00 noon.
