Reedley Captures First Place at CVC Tournament #3

The Tigers traveled west about 45 minutes to play the Lemoore Golf Course for Central Valley Conference Tournament #3 of the young 2018 season.  Weather forecasters had called for sunshine with very little wind, a nice reprieve after the rainy weather the past couple of days, and the Tigers took advantage of the tremendous scoring conditions and played well for their afternoon round.  The Tigers shot a team score of 366, or +6 over par for five players, with all 5 Tiger golfers posting scores in the low 70's.  The Tigers had 5 of the best 7 individual scores on the afternoon!! The Tigers' victory bested Taft's 373, West Hills – Lemoore's 391 and Fresno City's 402.  Leading the way for the Tigers and shooting an Even par round of 72 was Dylan Otto, who also carded the 2nd best score on the afternoon!!  Next was the duo of Adam Nelson and Xavier Coreno, who both fired solid rounds of 73.  Morgan Cooper and John Karayan finalized the scoring on the day by posting 74's for the Tigers.  The Tigers now have an overall record of 8-1 on the season, including 8-1 in the Central Valley Conference. The Tigers currently hold a 1 point advantage over the 2nd place Taft College team through 3 tournaments, with 9 still remaining.  Next up on the schedule is the season opening home tournament at Kings River Golf & Country Club in Kingsburg.  Tee time is slated to begin on Monday at 12:00 noon.
