Men's Basketball Loses On The Road

Reedley College has dropped three straight Central Valley Conference contests. The latest loss came on Monday night in Lemoore, as the Tigers fell to West Hills Lemoore 95-83. Reedley cut a 17-point deficit to three midway in the second half before running out of gas. The Tigers dressed only seven players and had one player foul out. Anthony Martinez led the second-half comeback with 30 points. Martinez made four three-pointers while Juelz Fox added 26 points for Reedley. The loss was the seventh straight for the Tigers, who fell to 0-3 in conference play and 4-13 overall.


On Saturday, the Tigers came up six points short at Fresno City College, falling by an 85-79 final score. Anthony Martinez led Reedley with 25 points and four assists while Justin Parks had 20 points and 16 rebounds.


In their first action in four weeks, the Tigers returned from their Covid break and dropped an 82–76 decision at home to the Merced College Blue Devils. Four Tigers scored in double figures in the loss, led by Jamar Bowers with 22 points. Dwayne Howell followed with 19 points before fouling out of the game. Martinez was next with 16 points and 11 assists while Parks netted 10 points.
It was the first home game played with no fans.


To make up games postponed due to health and safety concerns, the Tigers will add Monday night games to their regular Wednesday and Saturday schedule. On Wednesday, Jan. 26, Reedley is scheduled to travel to Porterville before hosting West Hills Lemoore on Saturday at 3 pm. They are scheduled to face West Hills Coalinga twice in three days, taking on the Falcons in Coalinga on Monday and again on Wednesday, Feb. 2 in Reedley at 5 p.m.
