Men's Basketball Finishes 2020 With A Thrilling Road Win.

Despite finishing four games over .500 and a win over Porterville College, the Reedley College men's basketball Tigers were left out of the Northern California Regionals.

Coach T.J. Jennings' Tigers moved into a tie for fourth place n the Central Valley Conference Friday with a 74-73 road win over the Porterville College Pirates. Both Reedley and Porterville finished with 7-7 records in the CVC with Reedley finishing 16-12 overall.

In the win over Porterville, Anthony Martinez scored a game-high 27 points, making 7 of 12 3-pointers. Uriah Carter followed with 25 points while Hassan Bolden had 8 points and nine rebounds.

Carter led the conference in scoring at 20.5 points per game. Bolden led the CVC in rebounding at 9.9 per game and was second in scoring at an even 20.0 per contest Freshman Richard Corona finished fifth in three-point field goal percentage at 41.1 percent.

On Feb. 19, Reedley dropped a 93-63 decision to conference champion Fresno City. Martinez led the Tigers with 20 points while Bolden was 8 of 12 from the floor for 19 points. Carter finished with 14 points. The 30-point loss was the worst of the season. It was only the second double-figure loss in conference play.

Bolden and Carter were named first-team all-CVC. Martinez was named to the all-freshman team while sophomore Braxton Hicks and Carter were named to the all-defensive team.
