Women's Equestrian Opening Weekend Results

Reedley College opened the 2019-20 women's equestrian season last weekend by winning Reserve High Point team honors at the College of the Sequoias Tulare campus.

"Saturday was a great day with several wins," reported RC coach Desi Molyneux.

Makalia Nowell took first place in the Rookie A division. Jessie Miles (Minarets) was Reserve High Point Rider after second-place finishes in Reining and Open Horsemanship.

Other Saturday placers included:

Level I Western Horsemanship Katie Walker (Golden West)  5th Place and Corin Lamont (Yosemite), 6th place.

Rookie B Stephanie Blanc (Clovis North) 5th place.

Rookie A Rheanna McConnell (Buchanan)  2nd place, Kassandra Diaz (Reedley) 4th place and Torey Foster and Kalina Munro, 6th place.

Beginner Western Sportsmanship  Savannah Burnette (Central, Fresno) 2nd place and Yakaren Estrada 6th place.

On Sunday, the Reedley College Home Show was held at the COS campus. "This was another great day with many winners and great attendance from the Reedley College campus community," said the coach.

Miles was named the High Point Rider after first-place finishes in Reining and Open Horsemanship.

Macey Stowers took first place in Level One Western Horsemanship while Nowell again took first place in Rookie A.

Other Sunday results included: Rookie B: Blanc, 2nd and McConnell, 6th. Rookie A: Diaz, 3rd; Foster, 4th and Munro, 5th. Beginner Western Horsemanship: Burnette, 7th.

Reedley College is back in action at the UC Davis Show, held at the Sugarland Horse Park in Woodland on Nov. 9-10.
