Tiger Baseball Loses To Ohlone

A five-game road trip was scheduled to continue on Tuesday, Feb. 12 for the 2019 Reedley College baseball Tigers.

The opponent, weather permitting, is the 6-2 Sacramento City College Panthers.

Reedley saw its season record fall to 1-6 last Thursday with a 16-3 loss in Fremont to Ohlone College.

Ohlone (5-2) opened the scoring with four runs in the bottom of the first off starter Alex Escobar (0-2).

The Tigers' cut the deficit to 4-3 in the top of the fourth before the Renegades exploded for 12 runs off the Tiger bullpen in the next three innings. Reedley used seven different pitchers in the loss.

Leadoff hitter Deagan Risnes led the Tiger attack with a triple, a single, a run scored, and a run driven in. Nick Martinez added a double and a single as RC finished with 10 hits but left 10 runners on base.

Five of the eight Central Valley Conference baseball teams went into this week's action with two wins or less.

Reedley had a Feb. 5 contest at DeAnza College in Cupertino postponed due to rain.

Weather permitting, the Tigers have a 1 pm contest at Gavilan College in Gilroy scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 16.
