Reedley College Sports Update For The Week Of 9-27

Women's Soccer:

Something had to give Friday night on the Reedley College soccer field. The Tigers came in the match with Fresno City College with five straight shutout wins while the Rams had also had five straight wins.

It all came down to a goal in the 77th minute by Jazmin Mora to give the Rams the win. The Tigers had their chances but statistics showed Reedley with FCC getting nine shots.

But it is quite an improvement from 2017 that lost to Fresno City 12-1 and 15-0 in 2017.

Coach Onesta Francis' team conference plays Sept. 28 with a 1-0 win over the College of the Sequoias in Visalia on a goal in the 11th minute by Denise Martinez and the play of goalie Lucy Chavez, who had 12 saves in the shutout win.

Reedley takes a 5-2-1 season record into two tough conference matches this week, at Taft on Oct. 5 and hosting Clovis at 6 p.m. Friday night.
